2020 has been a banner year for surprising and traumatic events. But even in a more “normal” year we can be blindsided by unexpected events, big and small. These shocks can be disturbing – even exhausting. How can we learn to recover from these shocks when they happen? Can we find a way to protect ourselves from being thrown for a loop in the first place?
Buddha taught quite a few practical methods to develop the kind of peace of mind that can protect us at these times. By transforming adverse conditions into the spiritual path, we can turn the surprises that life throws at us into fuel for our spiritual practice. Instead of being knocked off course, we are energized and encouraged. Everyone is welcome to learn how to use these very practical methods.
