When our situation feels uncertain or dangerous, it is easy to believe that anxiety is our only choice. How can we be peaceful in the face of danger? Is that just pretending everything is alright? In fact, there is a way to stay calm and positive without being in denial. Times of change and uncertainty can be unsettling, but they also can become transformative experiences.
By training in meditation, we can create an inner peace and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of external circumstances. Gradually we will develop mental equilibrium, a balanced mind that is happy all the time. And through this we will discover that our responses to difficult or dangerous situations can be much more constructive and effective if we take the time to cultivate peace inside.
